Respect is the word that best defines Second Bloom Farm.   Respect for the land, respect for the animals, and respect for the age old processes used to generate the products we use ourselves and sell.

The journey began in 1991 when the Wood family moved from White Rock, New Mexico to our farm in Pajarito Acres.   Second Bloom Farm has good soil, herb gardens, and room for farm animals.   Our introduction to the "caprine" world began with Eunice Larson.   She sold us two Nubian goats from her herd.   One, Cecilia, was actually born on our farm several years before we moved here.   We now raise Nigerian Dwarfs and Nubians.

The Goat is one of the most beneficial farm animals.   Our goaties produce superb high butterfat dairy milk from which cheese, butter, and full cream soap are made. One of our does was awarded a dairy star.   The milk is used to create a gentle soap that cleanses the skin (the largest organ of the body).   Herbs are grown on the farm and combined in synergy with the soap.   The soap is handmade from a mixture of goat milk, herbs, gentle oils, and sodium hydroxide which is heated, triggering a chemical reaction called saponification.   This reaction causes a creamy soap to form.   The soap is poured into custom molds and cured for a minimum of eight weeks.

Full Cream Pure Goats Milk is known for its nutritional, healing, and moisturing qualities.   Full Cream Goats Milk is a rich and wonderful skin softener and is especially kind to sensitive skin.

Second Bloom´s soaps have been selling locally and at the Farmers Market in Santa Fe and Los Alamos, New Mexico for the past ten years.   They can also be found at the Monk's Corner in Santa Fe.

In 2008 we added a 300 liter copper distiller.   This purchase enables us to distill lavender and other aromatic plants for use in our products.   Distillation is yet another process to help are farm become more sustainable.
